Nationwide — The highly anticipated independent film Finding Tony, directed by Raven Magwood Goodson and executive produced by NBA star Anthony Davis, is set to make its debut premiere on May 9, 2024 during a private VIP screening in Los Angeles! The film will be released exclusively on May 10th on watch.findingtonyfilm.com. In June, Finding Tony will be released via Amazon, Apple TV, and other TVOD platforms.
The first screening for Finding Tony took place during the 2024 NBA All Star Weekend in Indianapolis, IN on February 17th. The exclusive event featured the movie’s executive producers Chandra Magwood, Billy Goodson, Raven Magwood Goodson, Keith Chamberlain, and Anthony Davis, along with other stars like Erica Banks, various NBA players, David Bell of the Cleveland Browns, and many more. The screening was in partnership with Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and was attended by members of 100 Black Men, as well as students from HBCUs around the country.
Writer/Director, Raven Magwood Goodson plans to have a special HBCU screening in late April in Atlanta to allow students to get a sneak peak of the film, chat with the cast and crew, and open the conversation about mental health. “I’m super excited for people to be inspired by this film and the many subtle messages throughout,” says Goodson.
Ahead of the May digital release, there will be a Red-Carpet VIP screening premiere in LA which will consist of the cast, crew, VIP guests, and prominent public figures. Following the ninety-minute film, there will also be a Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage with the director and other members of the film’s cast/crew, delving deeper into the intricacies of the movies, the vision, and the message.
