Nationwide — Sharon Eddings, a self-taught software developer from Detroit, Michigan, is the founder of Rápido Spanish, LLC, a patent-pending language learning platform designed to help adults move from memorizing vocabulary to having real conversations in Spanish through immersive workplace-style simulations. Shortly after launching on April 29, 2026, Eddings and the company received a $15,000 acquisition offer for the platform, but declined it due to their belief in its much larger long-term vision and future value.
According to the company, Rápido Spanish was created around the belief that many adults already know more Spanish than they realize but struggle to speak fluently because traditional methods focus too heavily on grammar drills, flashcards, and memorization instead of real-world usage. “We teach your brain to hear first and speak second,” Eddings explained, noting that the platform is designed to mirror how people naturally acquire language from birth through repetition, context, and interaction rather than formal rules.
The idea for the system came from observing how adults quickly adapt in fast-paced work environments. Eddings compared the experience to learning a new restaurant job during a busy rush, where the brain absorbs information naturally through doing rather than studying. That concept became the foundation for the company’s interactive learning model.
Rápido Spanish places learners inside simulated real-world environments such as restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, customer service settings, and workplaces where Spanish is happening in real time. Users interact with simulated customers, take orders, answer questions, and complete tasks while naturally building vocabulary recognition and conversational confidence.
The company recently launched a Free Week experience that allows users to test the platform without a credit card. Learners begin by mastering a small set of words before applying them in a simulated restaurant environment using a virtual POS system and kitchen display system. The company says future expansions may include medical offices, hotel front desks, and airline check-in simulations.
Designed for professionals, nurses, HR staff, travelers, managers, customer service workers, and everyday learners, Rápido Spanish says its mission is to help people stop freezing when spoken to in Spanish and instead respond naturally through immersion and repetition. “We don’t start with rules,” Eddings said. “We start with usage. The rules can come later. First, people need to feel the language.”
