PHEN Releases “Your Prostate Health Minute” PSA Campaign for Black History Month

— Organization Launches Prostate Cancer Education and Awareness Campaign in Partnership with National Radio Stations —

Boston, MA — To quote Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane,” says Thomas A. Farrington, president and founder, the Prostate Health Education Network in his latest “Your Prostate Health Minute” set to air on radio stations around the country this month.

February is Black History month and PHEN has chosen this time to bring attention to the inhumane history of prostate cancer in Black America. Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer for all men. “This could be your father, brother, grandfather, friend… or even you. But most alarming—black men die at a rate more than twice that of all other men, and this injustice must be eliminated,” Farrington says in the PSA.

“Your Prostate Health Minute” is a public service announcement (PSA) campaign, to raise the public awareness and knowledge about important prostate health topics. Each PSA highlights a specific topic while urging radio listeners to access more detailed information about that topic from PHEN’s online educational resources on its website: www.rapcancer.org. Each PSA is approximately one minute in length and recorded by PHEN founder and president Thomas A. Farrington, who is also a 16-year prostate cancer survivor.
