Southwest Ranches, FL — Richard Jean, a principal at Archbishop McCarthy High School in Florida, is facing a charge of domestic violence after he was involved in an alleged incident at a home in Miramar. He was arrested and is currently booked in jail.
The report also stated the victim had suffered from injuries including bruises on his neck and blood in his ear.
Students and teachers from the school where Jean serves as the principal were shocked to hear the news as they described him as “nice” and “soft-spoken.”
Jean has since been placed on administrative leave by the Archdiocese of Miami pending the outcome of an investigation by the Miramar Police Department.
Last year, Jean was involved in an off-campus altercation with Jacob Springer, a former student who was expelled from school. Springer reportedly tried to cut the principal off while driving before punching him first in the face, which led to Jean fighting back. Springer was charged with assault and battery.
