Tom Hanks’ Son on the N-Word, “I Use It All The Time… Who Says Only Black People Can Use It?”

Hollywood, CA — Chet Hanks, son of Tom Hanks and an aspiring rapper, says that he can use the n-word whenever he wants. On his Instagram account, he says in a video, “Who is to say only black people can use it?”

He continues, “It’s a word that can be used out of camaraderie and love, not just exclusively for black people. What’s the point in putting all these built up ‘rules’ about it. It’s time to let go. You can hate me or love me for it, but can’t nobody tell me what I can or can’t say.”

He also posted a series of messages saying the word can only have a “negative connotation if we so choose” and that it “unifies the culture of hip-hop across all races.”

Hanks can also be heard using the n-word throughout his music.

But his followers don’t agree

One of his Twitter followers responded: “Yikes not a good start to your career. You’re in California, so go to Compton and see what kind of response you get.”

Another person posted: “Chet Haze is the main example of white privilege taking black culture for themselves. He’s worse than Iggy Azalea.”

And yet another said: “The rapper son of Tom Hanks joins the ranks of privileged white faux artists appropriating blackness in an attempt to gain credibility.”

And what does his dad, Tom Hanks have to say about it?

Tom Hanks nor his wife have commented publicly on their son’s use of the n-word. Earlier this year, during an interview with New York Post, Hanks made it clear that he supports his son’s music career but does not approve of some of his profane lyrics.

Meanwhile, Instagram reportedly deleted Chet’s account. But you can still follow him on his Twitter account if you want to respond to his n-word comments.
