Nationwide — Edward Jacob Lang, a 31-year-old white influencer, has been arrested for terroristic threats tied to the Karmelo Anthony murder trial. He was jailed and hit with a $1 million bond after multiple North Texas incidents.
According to Atlanta Black Star, prosecutors say Lang made threats involving jury proceedings in the high-profile case. Karmelo Anthony was later convicted of the killing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, an incident that drew wide public attention and strong reactions.
Authorities allege Lang said he would “take care of it himself” if the jury did not return a guilty verdict. He was arrested on the same day Anthony was found guilty and later sentenced to 35 years in prison for the fatal stabbing at a high school track meet.
Court records show Lang was already facing legal restrictions in Collin County before the arrest. Earlier in June, he was charged with criminal trespass outside Frisco City Hall during a protest and released on a $7,500 bond, along with an order to stay away from the courthouse.
Despite that restriction, investigators say Lang later appeared near the courthouse holding a “White Lives Matter” sign that included Metcalf’s photo. Witness videos also captured him making aggressive remarks connected to the case.
Lang’s legal history also includes charges from his involvement in the January 2021 U.S. Capitol riot. He was later convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers and served prison time before receiving a presidential pardon in 2025.
In March 2026, he was charged again after allegedly threatening a Metropolitan Police officer at a Capitol anniversary event. Court documents state he made repeated violent statements, and a judge ordered him to avoid contact with the officer.
Separate incidents this year also placed Lang at ICE-related protests in Minneapolis, where authorities say he took part in disruptive activity and damaged a public sculpture during a demonstration. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property.
Officials have not released additional details about the most recent arrest as the case continues in North Texas.
