Nationwide — A tragic accident claimed the life of a 4-year-old African American girl from Shoreline, Washington, when she fell from an apartment window last weekend. The medical examiner confirmed that the child died from blunt force trauma caused by the fall on October 13th.
Fox 13 Seattle reports that Chancellor, a single mother of four, explained that she was watching her children when the tragedy occurred. One of her children opened the bedroom window while her daughter was playing nearby. “She was jumping on her bed close to the open window,” Chancellor recalled. “She bumped into it, the screen fell off, and she went down. I completely lost it.”
Her daughter was known for her lively spirit and a deep sense of care for those around her. “She just made everyone happy, it didn’t matter who it was. Everyone loved her,” Chancellor said, cherishing her daughter’s memory.
Now, Chancellor is focusing on staying strong for her remaining three children and raising awareness about the dangers of children falling from windows. Sadly, this type of accident happens far too often, with thousands of children falling from windows each year, and many suffering serious injuries or death. This tragic event serves as a reminder to all parents to take precautions to prevent similar accidents in the future.
