Adreannia Donaldson, charged in the car crash that killed her 1-year old daughter
Chicago, IL — Adreannia Donaldson, a 29-year old woman from Chicago, has been charged in connection to a fatal car crash that resulted to her 23-month old daughter’s death. Police say that her daughter was not in a car seat, and was therefore ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
Last Friday at around 1 a.m., Donaldson was driving westbound when she tried to make an improper U-turn at an intersection. She struck another car going east on a green light and crashed into a wall.
Amari Glenn, her daughter who wasn’t in a car seat at that time, was ejected from the car because of the impact. She was rushed to Lurie Children’s Hospital where she died soon after.
Two women, aged 18 and 19, and two men, both 19 years old, who were inside the other car did not undergo medical treatment. Donaldson and another 29-year-old man who was a passenger were treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for their injuries.
Donaldson was charged with one felony count of aggravated drunken driving and four misdemeanors, including for having no insurance, no license, failure to yield and not having a child restraint for a child younger than 8 years old.
Investigators also found that she had signs of an unknown narcotic in her system.
Donaldson has since been on custody and her bail was set to $20,000. A judge also barred her from driving.
