Black CEO Who Has Secured More Than $600M in Business Deals to Host Luxury Retreat For Women

Nationwide — Amber Batchelor, the first Black President of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce who has led the regional team to ensure access to $600 million in funding to develop South Georgia’s transportation infrastructure, is now hosting a luxury retreat in Tucson, Arizona, for women entrepreneurs and professionals. The retreat, which is called Serenity Summer Series: A Women’s Wellness Weekend, is a uniquely curated all-inclusive luxury experience to cater to women, rejuvenating them on their journey seeking high-level strategic progress and vital energy for transformation, revitalization, and recovery. It will be held at Miraval Resort and Spa on June 22-24, July 20-22, and August 24-26.Amber, who worked previously as a Senior Executive at UPS, was also directly responsible for increasing the company’s sales portfolio from $10 million to $35 million. Along with her current experience as the CEO of BB Insights Group, she is a powerful resource and inspiration for women who want to also reach her level of success.

For the retreat, Amber is inviting all women, mompreneurs, professionals, retirees, and the like to come on this journey and share their stories with one another and unwind. She comments, “As women, we are only as strong as the collective of women we are brave enough to share our stories with; this experience is sure to ignite a mindful approach to life in balance.” You select your date(s) to enjoy pioneering programs, exclusive spa treatments, nourishing cuisine, and world-class wellness specialists to live your best life – whatever that means for you.

Amber adds, “A weekend like this is usually financially unattainable for most women; however, through the visionary creativity of Miraval Resort & Spa in Arizona, we have been able to develop full packages that include spa-like room accommodations, all meals, and personalized programming for each individual. Miraval focuses on the whole person to help you achieve balance – whatever that means for you.”

Amber served on the economic front lines of the pandemic working with hundreds of diverse small business owners in rural areas and opportunity zones to survive, even thrive throughout the pandemic. She worked directly with the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) to manage and administer grants to provide business assistance and leadership development to the historically underserved and excluded population of small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs – women and people of color. When the pandemic hit, like many Americans, Batchelor and her then team were impacted due to the economic constraints of the pandemic as her previous employer made the difficult decision, like many, to restructure the organization. On the same day, Batchelor was immediately recruited by Florida Tech to bring her financial management acumen and consulting expertise to help businesses as the Director of the Women’s Business Center, an SBA program. It was then that she realized the disproportionate and negative impact this era was having and would continue to have on women.

Amber continues, “Our mental health report numbers are at about 50% for women however, imagine all the women that are not reporting that they need help and support. This inspired me to develop The Collective: A Women’s Retreat and now, The Serenity Summer Series: A Women’s Wellness Weekend; providing a safe space for women to relax and reconnect”.

She has enlisted the support of events maven, Carolyn Howell, CEO of EVENTS USA to ensure all the women have an elevated experience and no stone is left unturned to address every detail.
