Nationwide — Anitra West, an employee at Church’s Chicken in Orange Mound, Tennessee was tragically shot and killed while working at the restaurant. According to police, her death followed a heated argument with a customer over a food order.
Shortly after, a gunshot was heard, and Williams’ car was seen speeding away on surveillance footage. West was found outside the restaurant and rushed to Regional One Hospital, where she later died.
Lorenzo West Jr., Anitra’s ex-husband, expressed his grief and frustration. He had recently reached out to Anitra to discuss getting back together, he told WREG.
Moreover, he believed the killing was personal rather than over a fast-food order.
“I know Anitra was too important to be killed about some food,” he said. “It wasn’t about no food. It was something somebody took personal, and couldn’t let it go. Once you get past words in Memphis, everybody knows how it turns out.”
Meanwhile, Williams, who is facing a first-degree murder charge, remains in jail without bond, according to Local Memphis.
