Anthony Anderson Admits His Remarks to a 17-Year-Old Lindsay Lohan Were “In Poor Taste”

Anthony Anderson interview with Lindsay Lohan

Nationwide — Actor and host Anthony Anderson admitted more than two decades later that a 2003 interview he did with 17-year-old Lindsay Lohan was “in poor taste” after resurfaced clips stirred fresh attention online.

The interview happened on The Sharon Osbourne Show, where Anderson was a guest host. At the time, Lohan was promoting her projects and shared she had just moved in with fellow Disney star Raven-Symoné.

Anderson asked, “What gentlemen will be at the new pad?” Lohan replied that she didn’t have a boyfriend. Anderson turned to the audience and said, “She’s single but still looking.” Lohan then added, “But I’m illegal for people that are old.”

Anderson followed up with, “Some men like them young. We ain’t gonna mention no names, but I’m one of them.” He was 33 years old during the interview.

After the old footage went viral, a rep for Anderson released a statement, according to Fox News. It said, “This interview was clearly intended as comedy. He regrets that the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay. Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory.”

The clip resurfaced just as Lohan promotes her upcoming film Freakier Friday, the sequel to Freaky Friday, set to hit theaters on August 8.
