Woman Banned from All Walmart Stores Nationwide After Repeated Shoplifting

Ashley Cross

Nationwide Ashley Cross, a 37-year-old African American woman from Memphis, Tennessee, has been banned from every Walmart in the U.S. after being caught shoplifting again. She now faces charges of criminal trespass and theft.

Memphis police arrested her on February 15th after responding to a call about a shoplifter at Walmart on Elvis Presley Boulevard. Cross, known for her repeated thefts, was seen on security footage using a barcode from an old watch battery to scan all her items for just $1 at the self-checkout.

Her stolen goods included 11 packs of Ramen noodles, women’s boots, a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt, totaling $137.34, according to WREG.

Cross is on Walmart’s Authorization of Agency list, prohibiting her from entering any store nationwide due to past shoplifting offenses.

Walmart said in a statement, “We value our customers and associates and want them to have a pleasant shopping experience. Though rare, there are instances when someone is no longer welcome in our stores.

Cross is being held on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on February 19.
