Nationwide — Singer Aura V made history at the 2026 Grammy Awards after winning Best Children’s Music Album with her father, Fyütch. At just 8 years old, she became the youngest individually named Grammy winner ever.
The father-daughter duo earned the award for their album Harmony during the February 1 ceremony. The win marked a rare moment at the Grammys and placed Aura ahead of all previous record holders in the category.
Backstage, Aura said working on the album with her dad felt fun and easy. According to E! Online, she shared that they “got to spend time together. We get to go out to eat dinner. And we get to chill.”
Fyütch, whose real name is Harold Simmons II, said Aura enjoys “the fun parts of making music.” Aura quickly jumped in to add that food was also part of what made the process enjoyable, drawing laughs from reporters.
Aura also caught attention on the red carpet with her outfit choice. She said she picked a lavender dress because the color felt calming and helped her feel settled. She explained that brighter colors like red would have blended into the carpet instead of helping her stand out.
With the win, Aura broke the record previously held by Blue Ivy Carter, who won a Grammy at age 9 in 2021 as a featured artist on the music video “BROWN SKIN GIRL.” Aura now holds the title as the youngest solo-named Grammy winner.
During their acceptance speech, Fyütch spoke about the importance of children’s music in education and development. “Children’s music is more than a genre,” he said. “It is an intention of artists who have dedicated our crafts to educating entreating and empowering the next generation — which is our highest calling.”
Aura, lifted to the microphone by her dad, thanked the audience. She said, “I just want to say that it is an honor to be here today. I was not expecting us to go this far.”
