Bill Cosby Seeks to Block Witnesses in New Sexual Assault Case

Bill Cosby

Nationwide — Bill Cosby is trying to block Janice Dickinson and several other women from testifying in a new lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault. He also wants to keep previous misconduct claims from being mentioned at the trial.

Cosby’s legal team filed court papers arguing that allegations from Barbara Bowman, Theresa Picking Serignese, and others shouldn’t count as evidence. They say these claims involve past incidents that were never charged and are therefore irrelevant, according to TMZ.

The case comes from Donna Motsinger, who says Cosby drugged and raped her in 1972 while she worked at the Trident restaurant in Sausalito, California. Motsinger alleges he gave her a pill she thought was aspirin, after which she woke up the next day partially undressed.

In a deposition for the case, Cosby admitted he refilled a Quaalude prescription from a gynecologist seven times, intending to give the pills to women for sexual encounters. He claimed he never took any of the pills himself.

Cosby previously served nearly three years in prison for aggravated indecent assault. He was released in 2021 after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction due to a procedural issue. The new trial will decide whether Motsinger’s claims can proceed and which witnesses can testify.
