Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest intercollegiate sorority for African-American women in the U.S., founded in 1908 at Howard University. It has played a significant role in supporting Black women in academia and networking. AKA is one of the largest national Greek organizations, part of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, also known as the Divine 9.
