Black Women Nationwide Rally Around Target Black Founder Fighting to Stay on the Shelf to Help Others

Nationwide — Tiffany Nicole Cartwright, Founder of G.L.A.M. Body Scrubs, is on a mission to retain her company’s position on Target store shelves so she can help others get there. Leveraging the power of the Black dollar, Black women on social media are hitting Target stores nationwide to support one of their own.

Tifanny comments, “As a Black Founder in the retail space, I believe we have an obligation to do everything possible to blaze the trail for others and hold the door open for them. If the door closes for me, I can no longer hold it open for anyone else. And that is just not acceptable.”

She continues, “Black businesses only occupy 6% of retail space despite being the largest consumer base. Not only are we underrepresented we are often underfunded, making it difficult to remain on the shelf.”

Black women nationwide are answering the call. Several groups on social media: Black Girls in Target, Black Girls Who Love Target, Black Women Who Love Target (all of whom Cartwright is a member) are decisively and intentionally buying Black, for which Cartwright is eternally grateful.

Sharla Horton, Creator of Black Women Who Love Target says “It has been amazing to have Tiffany in this group! She is such an inspiration to aspiring Black women founders who have a dream or vision. We all look at her and have a vision of what possible! Plus, her scrubs are AMAZING!”

Cartwright loves her sister groups and is eternally grateful for their support. She urges continued support for Black businesses this holiday season.

“The journey has been difficult.. but quitting is not an option. The support has been incredible… knowing my sisters have my back is everything.”
