Nationwide — Bobby McAffee, a 62-year-old African American man from St. Petersburg, Florida, who is HIV-positive, is facing charges for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy. Sadly, the child victim has tested positive with HIV.
According to WVLT, McAffee was arrested after a victim reported the assault from years ago. The incident occurred in unincorporated St. Petersburg when the boy was 8.
Detectives say he pinned the boy down, held his arms, and assaulted him. During an interview, he confessed to the crime.
The victim, whose current age remains undisclosed, recently learned he is HIV positive. McAffee admitted he has HIV, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities charged McAffee with sexual battery of a child under 12. He remains in Pinellas County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
