Woman Arrested for Putting Small Razor Blades in Grocery Store Bread

Camille Benson

Nationwide — Camille Benson, a 33-year-old woman from Texas, was arrested in Biloxi, Mississippi, for placing razor blades and a fishing hook in baked goods at Walmart. Authorities say no one was hurt, and she now faces attempted mayhem charges.

Benson is accused of tampering with bread and a muffin at two Walmart locations in Biloxi over the past 11 days. The first incidents were reported on December 5 and 7, but the full extent of the crime wasn’t realized until multiple customers reported finding razors on Monday, according to WLBT.

Biloxi investigators moved quickly after receiving a tip about Benson. Surveillance images captured her leaving a Walmart store around noon Tuesday, and she was arrested by 5 p.m. in the 1000 block of Division Street.

Police confirmed that several loaves of bread and a banana nut muffin had been compromised. Some items contained razor blades, while one muffin held a fishing hook. Investigators said the items had been punctured through their packaging, creating a serious risk for shoppers.

Benson is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a $100,000 bond. Authorities are urging anyone who purchased bread from Biloxi Walmart stores in recent weeks to check their products and report any sharp objects.

Lt. Candice Young said the tampering was “strange” and could have caused serious injury if customers weren’t alert. No injuries have been reported so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
