Nationwide — Carmen Bryan, who allegedly had a past romantic relationship with Jay-Z, has spoken out following the serious rape allegations against the hip-hop mogul.The lawsuit, which accuses Jay-Z of raping a 13-year-old after the 2000 MTV Music Video Awards, has recently sparked major controversy. Jay-Z, married to Beyoncé and a father of three, has since denied the accusations.
After the lawsuit surfaced, Bryan shared her thoughts on social media, including an Instagram post referencing Jay-Z’s controversial lyrics from Kanye West’s song “Monster,” according to The Mirror. She pointed out the lines, “Kill a block, I murder the avenues, I rape and pillage your village, women and children.”
Bryan followed up with a comment on her Instagram Stories, saying, “These days people don’t defend what is right, they defend who they like! – And that’s why we call you ‘groupie.'”
Bryan and Jay-Z reportedly had a secret five-year affair from 1995 to 2000, which she detailed in her autobiography and interviews. During their relationship, Bryan said she became pregnant but later miscarried, only informing Jay-Z afterward. At the same time, she was also involved with rapper Nas, with whom she shares a daughter.
