Singer Cassie to Take the Stand and Testify Against Diddy at Federal Trial

Cassie and Diddy

Nationwide — Casandra “Cassie” Ventura is expected to testify in the upcoming federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs — and she will do so publicly under her real name. Court documents filed on April 4 confirm that Cassie, identified in legal filings as “Victim-1,” will not be seeking anonymity as she takes the stand. Combs is currently facing multiple federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

TMZ reports that three additional individuals involved in the case have requested that their identities remain confidential throughout the trial. Prosecutors are asking the court to allow those individuals to use pseudonyms, citing concerns about public exposure, media attention, and the potential for harassment. Prosecutors noted the case’s high-profile nature and emphasized the importance of protecting the privacy and safety of alleged victims.

Cassie first drew national attention in November 2023 when she filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of assault, abuse, and human trafficking. That case was settled privately within days, but it helped prompt a wave of additional lawsuits and investigations into Combs’ alleged misconduct. A widely circulated hotel surveillance video from 2016—published in May 2024—showed an altercation between Ventura and Combs, further drawing attention to the case.

Federal prosecutors expanded the indictment in April 2025, adding new charges related to a second individual. The updated filing accuses Combs and his associates of coercing individuals into exploitative situations through manipulation and force. Prosecutors allege the incidents were part of a broader pattern of misconduct, which they describe as orchestrated and systematic.

Combs, who was arrested in September 2024 following raids on his residences in Los Angeles and Miami, remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial is set to begin on May 5. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied any wrongdoing in response to both criminal and civil accusations.

Neither Ventura nor representatives for Combs have publicly commented on the latest developments. The outcome of the trial could have wide-ranging implications as Combs continues to face legal scrutiny in multiple cases filed across the country.
