Black Woman Now Missing for More Than a Month After Leaving Late-Night Hotel Shift

Nationwide — Chantel Brooks, an African American woman from San Francisco, California, has been missing since July 17 after working a late-night shift at a hotel. Her family is searching for answers as investigators serve dozens of search warrants in connection with her disappearance.

Surveillance footage shows her leaving the hotel shortly after midnight while wearing a red zip-up sweatshirt and a brown, multicolored brimmed hat. More than an hour later, a camera captured her at a CVS in Fairfield wearing the same clothes.

The footage reportedly shows Brooks walking toward her car in the parking lot. Her brothers have not heard from her since, and they became concerned after they could no longer track her location and noticed she had stopped posting on social media.

Her family has distributed missing-person flyers around the CVS and other areas in hopes of finding new leads. Her brothers also said they received information that Brooks’ license plate was last detected in Oakland, though police have not publicly confirmed that detail.

According to Local 12 News, investigators have served dozens of search warrants as they work to determine what happened to Brooks. Her family said they also learned that investigators believe foul play may have been involved, but authorities have not released additional details.

Her brothers continue to search for Brooks and urge anyone with information to come forward. They have launched a “Bring Chantel Home” campaign and said they will keep searching until she is found.
