Black Judge in Metro Atlanta Arrested For Attacking a Police Officer

Nationwide — Judge Christina Peterson from Douglas County Probate Court faces charges of felony willful obstruction of a police officer and simple battery after allegedly punching an officer during an incident at a Buckhead nightclub.

Atlanta Police responded to a 911 call from Red Martini Restaurant and Lounge leading to Peterson’s arrest, according to 11 Alive.

According to warrants from Fulton County Magistrate Court, Peterson allegedly “struck an officer with a closed fist.”

The court documents also revealed that the officer was responding to a dispute between two individuals at the nightclub. Peterson was not initially part of the altercation.

The arrest report stated that Peterson did not disclose her identity and appeared to be under the influence.

As per jail records, Peterson is no longer in custody at Fulton County Jail.
