Nationwide — Nolan Wells’ mom, Christine Wonsley, was facing a professional misconduct investigation after an anonymous complaint was filed against her. The investigation comes as she and her family continue searching for answers surrounding Nolan’s death. However, the investigation was closed just one day after it began.
Family attorney Ben Crump revealed that the Mississippi Board of Nursing is reviewing allegations related to Christine’s work as a nurse. According to TMZ, he said the complaint was filed soon after Nolan’s death and believes it was an attempt to intimidate her while she grieves.
Crump accused the person behind the complaint of using it as a way to silence Christine. He pointed out that the complaint was anonymous and questioned why someone would make such claims without revealing their identity.
“It is a distraction, it is intimidation, and we will not let it stand,” Crump said. He added that Christine had already lost a part of herself when Nolan died and that someone was now trying to harm her further.
Crump said Christine had never received a professional misconduct complaint before this one. He said the timing of the investigation raised concerns because it came shortly after Nolan’s death.
Nolan disappeared on July 4 after spending the day with friends at Horn Island. Authorities found his body two days later on the island, close to where he was last seen.
In the aftermath of Nolan’s death, several people were arrested for allegedly threatening witnesses connected to the case. However, investigators have not announced any arrests related to Nolan’s death itself.
The investigation into Nolan Wells’ death is still ongoing as his family continues to seek answers.
