D4vd’s Lawyers Deny Murder Allegations, Claim a Grand Jury Indictment Was Never Issued

Nationwide — A singer who goes by the name of D4vd was arrested Thursday in Los Angeles by LAPD on suspicion of murdering Celeste Rivas Hernandez. D4vd’s lawyers now say authorities acted without a grand jury indictment and insist evidence will clear him of the murder allegations.

D4vd’s attorneys, Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter, responded in a statement. “Let us be clear – the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” they told TMZ.

The legal team also stressed that no grand jury has issued an indictment in the case. They added that no formal criminal complaint has been filed against the singer.

They said D4vd is currently being held only on suspicion. The attorneys said they plan to challenge the case and defend his innocence in court.

Police arrested D4vd on Thursday after the LAPD took him into custody over the alleged murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Authorities have not yet released detailed evidence supporting the arrest.

He has already been charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office with murder.
