Nationwide — Hip-hop influencer and podcaster DJ Akademiks faces backlash after a live-stream podcast caught him making disturbing comments to a 15-year-old moderator. The Breakfast Club later aired the audio, and Twitch removed his account for violating its policies.During a recent livestream, DJ Akademiks asked a 15-year-old boy graphic and inappropriate questions, as reported by Fox LA. He first asked if live streamer PlaqueBoyMax could seduce him. When the teen immediately said no, DJ Akademiks continued pushing.
“If [PlaqueBoyMax] got a sister and she threw you the box, would you smash?” he asked.
“No, because I’m 15,” the teen responded.
“What that mean?” DJ Akademiks asked.
“She’s above 18,” the teen said. “It [would be] grooming.”
Days later, The Breakfast Club broadcasted the audio, with co-host Loren LoRosa calling the exchange “weird, to say the least.” Other hosts praised the teen for standing his ground.
“That’s a wise little 15-year-old,” Charlamagne tha God said.
“He was very smart,” LoRosa added.
After the incident, Twitch removed DJ Akademiks’ account, citing violations of community guidelines.
In a separate livestream, DJ Akademiks admitted his mistake, calling it a “teachable moment.” He stated, “I am wrong. I will be better. Hopefully, people can learn from this whole little scandal with me.”
As of now, law enforcement has not released any statements regarding potential legal actions against DJ Akademiks related to the incident.
