Man Faces Death Penalty for Killing White Teen Pregnant Girlfriend Who Refused Abortion

Nationwide — Donovan Faison, a 23-year-old man from Florida, was found guilty of killing his 18-year-old girlfriend, Kaylin Fiengo, and her unborn child after she refused to get an abortion. A jury later voted to recommend the death penalty.

Fiengo was discovered dead inside her car at Coastline Park in November 2022. She had been shot in the head. Investigators found a bullet casing and an ultrasound photo near her body, linking the scene to her pregnancy.

According to WLBT, Fiengo had told Faison about her pregnancy by sending a photo of two positive tests. Instead of offering support, he accused her of lying and texted back, “Abortion!!!”

At the time, Faison was reportedly living with another woman who suspected him of cheating. Text messages showed he was angry and under pressure. “On my brother’s grave, I’m gonna crop her out,” he wrote before arranging to meet Fiengo at the park.

Prosecutors said Faison shot her at close range during that meeting and left her and the unborn baby inside the car. He was arrested about ten months later after investigators gathered enough evidence to charge him.

Faison was convicted of first-degree murder, killing an unborn child, and burglary. On Thursday, jurors voted 11-1 to recommend the death penalty. “You may and should consider the cold, calculated, premeditated nature of this killing. This was an execution-style killing,” prosecutor Stewart Stone said in court.

A judge is expected to decide Faison’s final sentence on December 5.
