However, a week later, his family received a phone call from the facility, informing them that Etienne had disappeared. Days later, the situation took a devastating turn when his body was reportedly discovered in a storage closet at the same facility.
Tragically, on September 2, the family was notified of Etienne’s death. His niece, Kimberly Etienne, expressed the shock and heartbreak of the family, recounting how a detective informed them that Elin’s body had been found in a storage closet, badly decomposed. The news left the family devastated, especially since they had believed he was missing, not deceased within the very facility entrusted with his care. “We never expected him to be dead in the nursing home,” said his granddaughter, Ruth Keisha Etienne.
