Oakland Park, FL — Engrid Thurston, a 46-year old day care van driver, has been arrested on a manslaughter charge after Noah Sneed, a 2-year old boy, was found dead in a hot van outside a day care center in Florida.According to the investigation, Thurston turned off the van’s safety alarm before all the children were able to get off the van on July 29th.
Thurston said she parked the van at around 9:30 a.m. outside Ceressa’s Enrichment and Empowerment Academy. The director, who usually took the attendance, was not at the day care at that time.
Noah’s lifeless body strapped into a seat belt was found inside the van about 3:30 p.m.
A medical examiner determined his death as hyperthermia caused by being left inside the van unsupervised for a long period of time.
Thurston is facing one count of aggravated manslaughter in connection to Noah’s death.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been launched to financially support Noah’s family, especially his mother, after his tragic death. It has so far raised over $8,800.
