Nationwide — Meet Gabby, a 15-year-old high school sophomore from the Texas foster care system who is looking for her forever family. Despite facing some tough times, she remains upbeat and fashionable.
“If you go dressing out in like, a bonnet and pajamas, I feel like you’re not really representing your home. But I’ve always been like this,” Gabby told KENS5. “I have to have a new outfit everywhere I go.”
From her bows and jewelry to her stylish clothes, Gabby takes pride in how she presents herself. She believes that confidence starts with how you look and feel.
Gabby is also focused on her future. She works hard in her online classes and dreams of studying law in college. Her goal is to work in a correctional facility and better understand the justice system.
“I went through a lot of stuff. I always thought the police was bad, so I wanted to see the diversity on both ends,” Gabby said.
Gabby hopes to find a family to support her as she pursues her dreams. She wants a place to call home, especially through college and beyond.
“When I go to college, I can have a home to go to, when I come home from school and stuff. When I come home for visits and Christmas and all types of other stuff like that,” Gabby said.
