Dr. Geneva J. Williams Living Her Legacy Out Loud
Detroit, MI — This month in Speakers Magazine, the publication celebrates Women’s History Month with a cover story on Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Golden Soror, Dr. Geneva J. Williams, who is also the President of Dr. Geneva Speaks, LLC. A Golden Soror is someone who has been active in the AKA sorority for more than 50 years. Dr. Geneva began her legacy as an AKA at Morgan State University, a Baltimore HBCU.“Making a difference” is a core principle and a driving force of Dr. Geneva’s efforts. She is a master leadership strategist, a certified life coach, a podcaster, and an author of several books and online courses.
Through her leadership, she has impacted and influenced communities towards positive change. The beauty of this demonstrated leadership is that it is also part of her family’s legacy; her Civil Rights activist parents overturned the unfair housing laws against Blacks. Her late father challenged the laws all the way up to the Supreme Court so Blacks can live in predominantly white neighborhoods in New Jersey. Together they wrote a book called, Justice on the Jersey Shore available on Amazon.
Dr. Williams and the other women featured in this issue strive to elevate and motivate others. “That’s what great speakers do. We should all celebrate that,” said Pam Perry, publisher of Speakers Magazine.
