Irv Gotti Died After Suffering a Stroke While Eating Chinese Food, His Brother Says

Nationwide — Irv Gotti’s brother, Chris Lorenzo, revealed that the music mogul suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke before his death. He rarely visited doctors, and when he did, he didn’t believe the diagnosis that he was diabetic.

The stroke occurred at night while Gotti was enjoying Chinese food and playing poker with friends, according to TMZ. His first stroke, which occurred six months before his death, was partly caused by Gotti’s ongoing struggle with diabetes.

Gotti had openly discussed his difficulty managing insulin but was also making efforts to improve his health by changing his diet.

In a statement, his family said he died surrounded by his loved ones and left behind “a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him and the countless lives he touched.”

Gotti’s funeral was attended by many prominent figures from hip hop and R&B, including Jay-Z, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, and Ashanti.

While the official cause of death has not been disclosed, Lorenzo firmly believes the stroke ultimately led to his brother’s death.
