Police Say Violent Gang Leader in Georgia Lured Kids With Ice Cream Trucks and Games

1-8 Trey Bloods, violent gang in Georgia

Nationwide — Jamar Ramsay, a violent gang leader of the 1-8 Trey Bloods in Georgia allegedly lured kids with ice cream trucks and bounce houses while running a multi-state crime spree. Authorities have now prosecuted 16 members for murder, shootings, and drug trafficking across ten counties.

The gang, part of the national Bloods network, operated from 2019 to 2022, committing serious crimes throughout Georgia. Investigators said they targeted young people to join their ranks, using parties and treats to make recruitment seem harmless, according to WSB-TV.

State authorities revealed that the gang’s leader also known as “Supreme,” managed operations from prison. He used contraband phones and the prison call system to coordinate activities across the state while already serving a life sentence for murder.

Ramsay was sentenced to an extra 60 years for his role. Another top member, Brantavious “Trap” Sims, who killed 19-year-old Lane Bullard in 2022, received life without parole plus 25 years. The remaining 14 members pleaded guilty to related charges.

The case was the result of a four-year investigation spanning California and ten Georgia counties. Authorities worked together through the Attorney General’s Gang Prosecution Unit, the GBI Gang Task Force, and the Department of Corrections’ Security Threat Group Unit. Officials said one suspect is still being sought.

Attorney General Chris Carr called the case “horrific” because of the gang’s focus on children. He emphasized the state’s commitment to public safety and keeping kids out of gang influence.
