Black Police Officer From Louisiana Delivers Baby on the Side of the Road

Nationwide — Officer Jason Lee, a police officer from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is being hailed as a local hero after delivering a baby on the side of the road during a routine patrol.

While on duty, Cpl. Lee was approached by a passing driver who urgently flagged him down. The driver explained that her daughter, who was in the car, was in labor and needed immediate assistance to reach the hospital, according to WDBJ 7.

Lee immediately began escorting the car towards the hospital. Instead of making it to the hospital, they had to pull over to the side of the road as the situation quickly escalated and the woman was about to give birth.

Lee promptly called for medical help and assisted in delivering the baby right there on the roadside.

Thankfully, thanks to Lee’s quick thinking and assistance, both mother and baby are reported to be in good health, as confirmed by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
