Nationwide — The 38-year-old woman from Alabama who is accusing rap moguls Jay-Z and Diddy of raping her when she was 13 is not admitting to “mistakes” about the details in her allegations. However, despite the inconsistencies in her account, she says she stands by her story.
In her lawsuit, she said the driver took her to a large white house with a gated driveway. Inside, after accepting a drink, she began to feel woozy. She claims Jay-Z and Diddy assaulted her in an empty room.
However, there are major discrepancies in the woman’s account. Her father, who she says picked her up that night, said he doesn’t recall driving to New York. Additionally, musician Benji Madden, who she claimed to speak with at the party, was on tour in the Midwest at the time.
The lawsuit was refiled to include Jay-Z as a defendant alongside Diddy, who is currently facing other criminal charges.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has since denied the allegations. “This incident didn’t happen,” he said in a statement, calling the lawsuit frivolous. Diddy’s lawyers also dismissed the claims, labeling the case a “shameful money grab.”
Despite the gaps in her memory, Jane Doe stands by her story. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, said she is willing to take a polygraph test and continues to insist her claims are true.
Jane Doe said sharing her story is about advocating for herself and encouraging others to come forward.
“You should always fight for what happened to you,” she said. “You should always advocate for yourself and be a voice for yourself. You should never let what somebody else did ruin or run your life. I just hope I can give others the strength to come forward like I came forward.”
