Nationwide — Jeremy Williams, a 42-year-old man from Georgia, has been executed in Alabama after pleading guilty to raping and killing 5-year-old Kamarie Holland. He had asked the state to move faster with his execution and was put to death at 6:16 p.m. Thursday.
Williams admitted to raping and strangling Kamarie in December 2021. Prosecutors said he arranged with the girl’s mother, Kristy Siple, to pay $2,500 to have oral sex with the child and recorded the attack.
According to Atlanta News First, Kamarie was reported missing from her mother’s home in Columbus, Georgia. Investigators reviewed phone records and found that Williams and Siple had been in contact the night before.
Authorities eventually tracked Williams to a motel in Phenix City, Alabama, where deputies arrested him. Evidence from his cellphone led investigators to an abandoned home connected to him, where they found Kamarie’s body in a storage room.
Williams later pleaded guilty in March 2024 to charges connected to Kamarie’s death, including capital murder, rape, sodomy, and obstruction of a corpse. Alabama law required a jury to hear the case before he could receive a death sentence, and jurors ultimately found him guilty.
Williams asked Alabama to speed up his execution after the Alabama Court of Appeals upheld his conviction and death sentence. He dismissed his legal team and filed the request himself, moving his case ahead of other death row prisoners who had been waiting for years.
Court proceedings also revealed Williams’ history of violence against children. Prosecutors presented evidence that he killed his infant daughter in Alaska in 2005 and sexually assaulted his stepdaughter and other children in the Chattahoochee Valley.
Kamarie’s father, Corey Holland, remembered her as a joyful child who loved princess costumes and playing dress-up. “She liked anything girly,” he said, recalling her energy and laughter.
After the execution, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey described the crime as “evil” and said its nature showed why the state has the death penalty.
Siple, Kamarie’s mother, is serving a 20-year sentence after pleading guilty to sex trafficking.
