Nationwide — Jessica Covington, a 32-year old woman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was 7 months pregnant, was killed after being shot in the head and stomach as she returned home from her own baby shower.
Covington was then taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after. Her unborn child also died. Authorities said at least 11 gunshots targeted her stomach.
The shooting was believed to be “domestic in nature,” authorities said. There have been no arrests in this deadly shooting.
Meanwhile, Mayor Jim Kenney said the city is offering a $50,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
