President of Black Farmers Association Calls Trump’s $12 Billion Payout a “Lie”

Nationwide — John Boyd Jr., President of the National Black Farmers Association, says African American farmers have not received any of the $12 billion that President Trump claimed was distributed. He criticized repeated delays and said Black farmers were excluded from key policy meetings.

Boyd spoke on MS NOW, addressing what he called a series of false statements from Trump. He pushed back on the former president’s claim in Iowa that $12 billion in aid had already reached farmers.

“That is a lie! The money has not been paid out, not $0.01 of it,” Boyd said, according to EurWeb. “And I just recently got an email, I think, Friday that said that sign up period has now moved to April.”

He emphasized that promised delivery dates have been repeatedly postponed, shifting from November through February with nothing delivered. Boyd said the administration has faced no consequences for the delays.

Beyond the payouts, Boyd highlighted being excluded from policymaking. He said he was not invited to the White House roundtable where the $12 billion was announced and pointed out that other Black leaders were also excluded. “He had an all-white farm meeting with the all-white audience that excluded Black farmers,” Boyd said.

Boyd linked these exclusions to the rollback of DEI programs, arguing it signals a move away from Black and small farmer issues. “They said, you know, we’re moving away from DEI. We’re moving away from the Black farmer issue, the small farmer issue,” Boyd explained.
