Nationwide — Jordyn “Lunar” William, an 18-year-old African American teen from St. Louis, Missouri, tragically died in a multi-vehicle crash days after being named prom queen. Two others were also killed in the incident, including her aunt and another passenger.
According to the New York Post, police said William was riding in a Lexus driven by her 53-year-old aunt, Cherese Fisher, when the crash happened on Friday night. Another vehicle sideswiped their car in Bellefontaine Neighbors, causing the Lexus to lose control.
The impact forced the Lexus into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a Toyota Highlander and overturned. William, Fisher, and 26-year-old Toyota driver Andrea Medina all died at the scene. The crash involved several vehicles and caused significant damage along the roadway.
A Cadillac was also involved in the sequence of events. It left the road and struck nearby trees after the initial collision. Authorities are still searching for the Cadillac driver, whose identity and condition have not been released.
Ritenour High School confirmed William’s death and said the school community is grieving. The tragedy came just days after she was voted prom queen.
