Nationwide — Ida Lorenzo, a 49-year-old former legal secretary from St. George, Utah, was arrested for taking matters into her own hands at a local Sakura Japanese Steakhouse. Lorenzo was caught on camera harrassing a 19-year-old girl about why she her miniskirt was so short and at one point, she even pulled down her skirt and was later charged with sexual battery.
As part of her plea agreement, Lorenzo will not face immediate jail time if she complies with the terms. She must avoid contact with the victim and stay out of trouble for one year. If she meets these conditions, the charges could be dropped. However, failing to follow the agreement could result in up to 180 days in jail.
The incident gained attention after a TikTok video showed Lorenzo pulling down the teen’s skirt and flashing a badge, claiming her state employment justified her actions. Lorenzo told the victim that if her skirt remained lifted, she would call Child Protective Services. The victim’s friends intervened, telling Lorenzo not to touch her.
Lorenzo reported the incident to the police herself, claiming she acted because the skirt was too high and children were present. She later made another 911 call, stating that her life was threatened due to her state job. Despite this, she was arrested after witnesses supported the teen’s account of the incident.
Following her arrest, Lorenzo was terminated from her position at the Attorney General’s office. She later set up a GoFundMe, which has now been disabled, citing financial struggles and her need to support her two sons.
