Nationwide — Keo Nottage, who is from West Palm Beach, Florida, was arrested after police say he stabbed his grandmother during a Mother’s Day dinner dispute, leaving her in critical condition in the ICU. He now faces attempted first-degree murder charges.
According to WLBT, police say the violence broke out on Mother’s Day as the family prepared a dinner at home in West Palm Beach. Court records show the grandmother and another relative went out to buy groceries for the meal, then returned and asked Nottage to help cook. He allegedly became angry and allegedly warned, “Someone is going to die today.”
Moments later, police say Nottage attacked his grandmother inside the home and stabbed her 11 times. Emergency responders rushed her to the hospital, where she was admitted with life-threatening injuries.
A cousin arrived shortly after and told investigators that Nottage chased him with a knife. The cousin ran outside and called for help as the situation escalated.
The grandmother remains in intensive care as doctors continue to monitor her condition. Authorities have not confirmed her chances of survival.
Nottage was later arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. He appeared in court the next day, where deputies removed him after repeated interruptions during the proceedings. He is being held without bond pending another hearing.
