Black Twin Sisters Graduate as Valedictorian and Salutatorian in High School and Again in Doctoral Program

Nationwide — LaTonya and LaToya Harris, African American twins from Texas, graduated at the top of their high school class in 2010 as valedictorian and salutatorian. Years later, they repeated the same achievement during their doctoral studies while completing advanced degrees in nutrition and chiropractic medicine.

The twins first reached the top of their graduating class in Texas in 2010, finishing high school with the highest academic rankings. Their results placed them as the top two students of their cohort.

They continued their education together at the University of Texas at Austin, where they studied sports management. They also shared the same dorm and moved through both bachelor’s and master’s programs side by side.

After college, they pursued chiropractic medicine after following advice from a mentor. They enrolled at Parker University and chose to stay on the same academic track, continuing to support each other through the program.

“Your best friend gets to come to work with you every day. We are more efficient because we already know what each other is thinking. We can just look at each other and know what needs to be said or done next. We make one another so much better,” the sisters told Because of Them We Can.

In 2021, the twins opened a chiropractic clinic called The BluePrint in Dallas, where they continue their professional work together.
