Nationwide — Lil Nas X was arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly assaulting a police officer. Hours earlier, witnesses reported him wandering around with hardly any clothes on Ventura Blvd. He was later hospitalized for a possible overdose before being booked on a misdemeanor charge.
According to People, police said the arrest happened early Thursday, Aug. 21, after multiple calls came in about a man “nude in the street.” Officers arrived around 6 a.m. and confirmed the person was the “Industry Baby” singer.
During the encounter, Lil Nas X allegedly struck one of the officers. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and later released into police custody. Booking records show he was charged with a misdemeanor at 11:22 a.m.
TMZ reported that several calls to law enforcement had been made earlier, around 4 a.m., raising concerns of a possible overdose. The outlet also published photos that appeared to show the 26-year-old walking down Ventura Blvd. wearing only underwear and boots. Police have not confirmed the overdose reports.
Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, has previously spoken about health struggles. In April, he shared a video from a hospital bed revealing he was dealing with facial paralysis, though he later assured fans that he was recovering.
As of now, his representatives have not released a statement regarding the arrest.
