Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Mom Reaches Settlement, Agrees to Give His Daughter Most of the Estate

Nationwide — Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s mom, Pamela Warner, has reached a settlement with the guardians of her late son’s daughter over the child’s inheritance. The agreement would give his daughter most of Warner’s remaining trust and estate, but it still needs court approval.

Pamela said the settlement also covers her granddaughter’s college tuition and gives her a share of the estate. She said the agreement reflects Malcolm’s estate planning and was made with his daughter’s best interests in mind after his untimely death.

According to TMZ, the settlement comes after Malcolm’s widow, Tenisha Warner, sued Pamela last month. Tenisha reportedly claimed that her daughter had been wrongfully excluded from part of the actor’s estate.

Pamela denied those claims, saying she never tried to stop her granddaughter from receiving financial support. She explained that Malcolm divided his trust among her, his father and his sister, while separately providing millions of dollars for his wife and daughter.

Pamela also responded to Tenisha’s recent public comments. She said Tenisha did not appear to participate in the settlement negotiations but added that she hopes everyone involved will support the agreement.

If the court approves the settlement, Malcolm’s daughter will receive the majority of the remaining trust and estate. Pamela said the agreement could also give her granddaughter financial support while helping maintain their relationship.
