Nationwide — Malika Williams, the African American female founder of The L.I.V.E Outreach, is excited to announce her initiative to renovate the Mobile Mentoring Hub, a vital resource that provides educational support to underserved communities. To bring this vision to life, her organization is seeking the community’s support and funding through our upcoming campaign. The L.I.V.E Outreach is dedicated to refreshing, renewing, and reviving youth within foster care and underserved communities by providing assistance with housing, financial support, career development, and life skills training.
The organization was founded in July 2014 by Malika, a true Detroiter born and raised. As a young girl, Malika entered foster care and by the age of 17 years old, she was a teen mother facing felony charges. Community advocacy is a huge part of Malika’s life. She enjoys assisting with community clean-ups, feeding the homeless and so much more. The organization just celebrated 10 years of service by giving away 60 bikes and 80 kites to families on Detroit’s east side.
Malika comments, “I believe that you must be the difference you want to see. With a focus on education and mentorship, we believe in the power of community support to drive positive change.”
The Mobile Mentoring Hub will be a lifeline for many individuals, offering mentorship, educational resources, and skills training. However, to enhance our impact, they need to upgrade the 14-passenger shuttle inside out to better serve our community. The renovation project aims to create a more welcoming, functional, and technologically advanced space for learning on wheels.
How You Can Help
The organization is seeking to raise $150,000 to cover the renovation costs, which include:
• Vehicle Renovation: Upgrading the interior design, seating, and workspace to provide a comfortable learning environment.
• Technology Enhancements: Installing new computers, interactive whiteboards, and Wi-Fi to facilitate modern educational methods.
• Safety and Accessibility Improvements: Ensuring our hub is safe and accessible for all community members.
• Educational Resources: Expanding our library and workshop supplies to support diverse learning needs.

All are invited to join the organization for a spooktacular skating event on Thursday, October 31st at United Skates of America in Lincoln Park, Michigan, where Malika will share more about her vision, showcase photos of the Mobile Hub, and outline how your contributions can make a difference.
