Nationwide — Meet Maria Watkins, the founder and CEO of RTC Protech, the first ever patented Black-owned app with a 24/7 call center that aims to minimize both police brutality and hate crimes. Maria, who is a 64-year-old technology, is a proud HBCU graduate of Clark Atlanta University (class of 1983) where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Maria comments, “By using technology for personal safety, we can better protect our families and loved ones. RTC Protech fiercely opposes police misconduct and a breakdown in interactions between the public and the police. Every person deserves to be treated with respect, given the benefit of the doubt, and not assumed guilty based on their skin color.”
She developed the app with the assistance of various successful entrepreneurs, a retired police captain, and a medical technology inventor. She says that her company, RightThere Corporation, has worked extremely hard for the past three years to develop this ground-breaking software. In 2021, she was finally granted a patent.
“RightThere Corporation has worked extremely hard for the past three years to develop this ground-breaking software. In 2021, our patent was granted. Our expectations were exceeded when our company’s valuation was completed this year. This is our soft launch introduction, and RightThere will celebrate its full launch at the completion of its state-of-the-art call center,” Maria adds.
She is also the author of an ebook entitled, How to Be Safe in America, which equips and empowers readers with the necessary tools and knowledge to better protect themselves and their loved ones.
