“Marriage Boot Camp” Star, Chef Stew, Releases New Comic Cookbook

Nationwide — Chef Stew, star of We TV’s Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition and President of Transition Kitchen Foundation, has gone animated in an issue of Black Streak Kitchen Comics. The comic cookbook features Chef Stew (alongside Black Streak Entertainment character Foxy Batter) teaching his savory Moroccan Spiced Chicken and Zesty Chickpea Salad recipe through step-by-step comic illustrations.“We’re excited to have Chef Stew on board to help us expose kids and adults to the culinary arts in a new, creative way,” says Terry L Raimey, co-creator and writer of Black Streak Kitchen Comics. “It’s a mission of his to mentor youth through the culinary arts, so combining our talents is an incredible collaboration.”

“A portion of the proceeds will help with operating costs for Chef Stew’s Culinary Arts Training Program,” says Justin Raimey, co-creator and artist of the comic. “It’s a program that teaches kids and young adults the importance of healthy cooking and eating, so our common goals make our collaboration extra special.”

In his issue of Black Streak Kitchen Comics, Chef Stew walks the reader through the entire recipe process, laying out everything a master cook needs to succeed: ingredients, measurements, equipment needed, food prep and cooking techniques, as well as food and kitchen safety. The comic even teaches nutrition facts associated with the ingredients in the recipe.
