Method Man Not Arrested, But Accused of Assaulting His Daughter’s Ex-Boyfriend at a Gym

Nationwide — Rapper and actor Method Man was accused of assaulting 28-year-old Patrick Sokoya at a Crunch Fitness gym on Staten Island, New York. The alleged attack is reportedly linked to a past relationship involving Smith’s daughter.

The 53-year-old, who is a Wu-Tang Clan member, allegedly punched Sokoya 7 times in the face with a closed fist, according to the New York Post. The altercation is believed to stem from a relationship Sokoya had with Smith’s daughter over a decade ago.

After the incident, Sokoya reported feeling dizzy but refused medical attention. A complaint was filed with the NYPD, but Smith was not arrested.

However, a representative for Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith, denied the claims, stating, “Mr. Smith categorically denies the allegations as reported and has not been the subject of an arrest by any law enforcement agency.”
