Nationwide — Nana Danquah Adjei Domson, a 21-year-old from Breman Asikuma in Ghana’s Central Region, has made history as the youngest person ever called to the Ghana Bar. His remarkable achievement has inspired many across the country and beyond, especially those from his hometown who have watched his journey of academic excellence from a young age.
Born on April 12, 2004, Danquah was a standout student from the very beginning. He completed Breman Asikuma Colonel Baidoo Basic School at just 12 years old, far ahead of his peers. He initially enrolled at Breman Asikuma Senior High School before transferring to Life International College in Tema, where he completed his secondary education at the age of 15, according to Ghana’s Graphic Online.
According to Face2Face Africa, in 2019, while many of his age mates were still in high school, Danquah was admitted into the University of Cape Coast’s Faculty of Law. Through dedication and hard work, he graduated in 2023 with First Class Honours, setting the stage for the next major step in his legal career.
Danquah then enrolled at the prestigious Ghana School of Law, where admission is highly competitive and the entrance exam is considered one of the toughest in the country. Passing the bar exam is equally challenging — in 2021, only 790 of 2,824 candidates passed, and in 2022, just 522 of 2,654 succeeded. This year, 694 candidates passed, with Danquah proudly among them.
On October 10, 2025, he officially joined the ranks of legal professionals when he was called to the Ghana Bar. His accomplishment breaks the previous record held by Akpene Darko Cobbina, who became Ghana’s youngest lawyer in 2019 at age 22. Before that, the record was held by former lawmaker Sarah Adwoa Safo, who was called at 22 years and 280 days in 2004.
Danquah’s journey is not just a personal triumph but also a powerful testament to what is possible through discipline, focus, and early academic achievement. His success has sparked widespread celebration, with many seeing him as an inspiration to young Ghanaians who aspire to greatness.
