Black Mom Welcomes 4th Baby with the Same Birthday as Her Other 3 Kids

Nationwide — Nauzhae Drake, a 26-year-old African American mother from Apple Valley, California, has defied astronomical odds by giving birth to all four of her children on the exact same date — July 7 — but in different years. She most recently welcomed her newborn son, Kailowa, on July 7, 2025, joining his three siblings: Kewan (2019), Na’Zaiyla (2021), and Khalan (2022), each of whom was also born on July 7. Remarkably, none of the births were induced, and none of the children shared the same due date.

Drake told People she was “completely astonished” when baby number four arrived on the same day. While thrilled, she admitted feeling a little sad for missing yet another birthday party due to going into labor. “This would be the third one I missed,” she said, “but I promised them I’d make it up to them.” She added that having all four kids share a birthday makes it feel like “Christmas twice a year.” Even more astonishing, each child reportedly has a birthmark on their right leg—though in different spots.

The young mom, also a nursing student set to graduate this December, explained that many people assume she has twins or triplets when she tells them her children share the same birthday. “That is always everyone’s response,” she said in an interview with ABC7 Los Angeles. She emphasized that all of her labors were spontaneous and that even her doctor was shocked enough to verify it in her medical records.

Drake’s story has garnered widespread attention due to how statistically rare her situation is. Experts say the odds of giving birth to four children on the same day in different years without medical intervention are likely in the millions. Her mother, LaKesha Harrison, was skeptical the third time her daughter said she was in labor on July 7, saying, “I know that you are lying.” Now, even friends and family have encouraged Drake to try her luck and “go play the lottery.”

In addition to her busy life as a mom, Drake has shared her motivation for pursuing nursing school: to build a better life for her children. Last year, she threw a shared birthday party for her kids featuring “three themes in one big party.” Despite the chaos that comes with such a unique situation, Drake says she feels incredibly fortunate.

Drake’s story is reminiscent of another mom, Kristin Lammert from South Carolina, who gave birth to four daughters—all on August 25—earning her own moment in the spotlight last year. While each woman’s story is extraordinary, both highlight the joyful unpredictability of motherhood and the lasting memories these shared birthdays will bring.
