— Life-sized chess game to bring important message – “Pants Up, Grades Up, Positive Thought and Purpose!” —
Dekalb County, GA — Orrin Hudson, founder of non-profit organization Be Someone, has just launched a new leadership workshop series called “Lunch & Learn” that is designed to educate and inspire urban students at school during their lunch break. The unique program uses the game of chess to teach students to make better decisions in life.
Hudson comments, “My organization’s commitment is to serve as a firewall between our children and self-destructive patterns that too often lead them into desperation, crime and ultimate failure.”
He continues, “We have trained over 40,000 students in 20 states, and we deliver a consistent, inspiring message of hope within our communities that has proven to make a lasting difference. We call our process ‘One Move At A Time,’ and we teach youth how to make the right moves and that every move has a consequence.
“All that is required for our communities to be destroyed is for good people to do nothing. We got to get in the game! The life we save maybe our own,” Hudson adds.
